Missing: Creativity

I think about blogging almost daily, but never sign-on to do so. I mentally write entries, think of topics, promise myself that the next day I will write. I like having an anonymous space to record my thoughts, so try new types of writing, to have a history of what I’m into or what I am thinking about. Lately I’ve been expressing to people that I need a hobby. But more so, a creative hobby. I’ve tried knitting, embroidery, photography, guitar–I never feel like I’m good at anything. I know I don’t have to be the best, but I want to like my creations.

I recently borrowed from a friend a book called What If? that has writing exercises. Since I have Friday’s off now, I think I’m going to make it a goal to try a new writing exercise every week and to blog about whatever is on my mind three days a week.

Off to read chapter 1 of What If?
